Langton Associates is dedicated to the creation of transformative, functional space – both interior and exterior. We seek fresh approaches to problem solving. Our team focuses on sustainable design including LEED projects. We are experienced in master planning, new construction, renovation, and interiors. Our team is equipped with the skills and knowledge to apply sustainable solutions to all types of project. These solutions are derived by evaluating site conditions, program requirements, and client goals to achieve a triple bottom line of environmental, economical, and social goals.
Sustainable approaches include energy efficiency and conservation, renewable energy generation, water conservation, materials and resources, building envelope, and site development. Our team integrates and balances these systems for optimal building performance and human comfort. Planning of the project involves commissioning to assess future building performance and maintenance of systems. Often there exist opportunities for sustainable projects to function beyond the project boundary and to serve and benefit the surrounding community.
With creative consultants, we incorporate energy efficient systems into the overall analysis and design. Specification of products, analysis of design options, technical implementation, and construction methods focuses on energy efficiency, conservation, and minimizing environmental impact. Energy efficient and sustainable design begins with site development and continues through building design, construction documents, field administration, and post occupancy evaluation. Sustainable technology is integrated with the aesthetics of the building without compromising appearance.
Many sustainable practices are inherently economical such as passive heating, cooling, and ventilation, building re-use, salvaged material use, and water conservation. Sustainable practice and cost effective strategies are not mutually exclusive. By maximizing efficiency and conservation we can create solutions that reduce overall costs without compromising sustainability. We perform life-cycle cost analyses to inform clients of investment and estimated paybacks. The team will utilize grants and tax incentives that support sustainable design projects. With sensitivity to budgets, we guide clients toward appropriate solutions.
